11161 Zonne top

The top is washed at 40 degrees in the machine before dyeing. Fold the top in pleats and tie with cotton yarn (which is wrapped tightly around several times).

For this top we have used approx. 3.5 liters of water heated to 30-60 degrees in which 350g fine salt is dissolved. Normally, use 1 kg salt to 10 liters of water.

Add the colour. Here we have used approx. 35ml of ES Batik. Normally, use 100ml to 10 liters of water.

Dissolve approx. 70g medium fix in a little water. Normally, use 200g to 10 liters of water. Pour into the dye bath and mix.

Wet the fabric and put it into the dye bath for 30 min. It should float freely. Stir frequently.

Pour out the coloured water and rinse the top.

Cut off the cotton yarn.

Rinse the top until the water is clean and then wash it in the washing machine at 60 degrees.

Draw some palm trees with a fabric marker (remember plastic or something hard between the layers). Draw slowly and do not pull the fabric with the fabric marker.

Sew on small rocaille beads on the neckline and straps.

Geschreven: 14 januari 2017 door admin

Wash the silk scarf and flush it.

Spread the moist scarf out in a tray with plastic.

Drip silk colour across the scarf using a pipette.

Dab with your fingers so the colour is mixed and divided over the entire scarf.

Let the scarf dry.

Put water in a pot and put a metal strainer over. Put the scarf into the strainer. Remenber, do not let the water touch the scarf. Keep a lid on and fixate the scarf for 5-10 minutes.

Flush out the excess colour.

Put the scarf over a piece of lining. The lining needs to be a little bit bigger than the scarf.

Pull the wool out into small wisps.

Put it on tpo of the scarf in a thin layer. If you want the scarf to be thicker, put an extra layer across the first one.

Moist the wool with soapy water.

Felt lightly with your hands. Make sure that all the wool are moist.

Roll the scarf into the lining. Make sure there is lining around all of the wool, as it will otherwise felt together.

When the entire scarf has been rolled into the lining, put a rubber band around the ends including 2-3 places on the roll.

Put the roll in the tumble drier at good heat along with a towel. Let it work approx 10 minutes. Roll out the scarf and check if the wool has stuck to the silk. Moist the wool and roll the scarf togehter with the lining once again, though from the other end. Put the roll back into the tumble drier, repeat until the wool is firmly stuck. Finally the scarf can be felted in the tumble drier without the lining. Check often that the scarf don’t delt together. Flush out the soap.

Zijde sieraden sjaal

Door het verven van kleine zijden sjalen en deze aan elkaar te binden krijgt u een ongewone en grappige sjaal. De techniek is simpel en de sjalen worden gefixeer in een pan.

Put the silk on a piece of polyester wadding and randomly brush on paint.

Dab on colour blotches with a pipette

Twist small peaks in the silk, and tie tightly around these with cotton yarn.

Also, tie knots. Remember that where the silk is covered, the colour will be preserved, but it must be tight.

Wrap and roll the scarf into a little ball and tie tightly.

Put the balls into a pot of boiling water with colour added. Use 20 ml of colour to 1 liter of water. Use less for a lighter result. Here we have used orange. Simmer for 1 hour. Then rinse off the excess colour, dry and iron the scarfs.

Tie three scarves together and plait.

Tie the plait onto a scarf, which is then tied to another scarf and so on. End with a plait.
