Kerstbal gevouwen van papier

Deze Japanse kerstbal is gevouwen van 6 stukken origami papier.

Use six pieces of Vivi Gade Design Origami paper size 10 x 10cm or 15 x 15cm. Two sheets of three different designs. Fold all six pieces of paper identically and make sure they are turning in the same direction. All folds must be very precise and sharp.

Fold the paper in half and unfold again. Fold the sides into the center line and unfold again.

Fold all four corners into the first folded line.

Fold the two sides into the first folded line.

Fold the bottom right corner up so that it is flush with the folded edge. Press the fold until it meets the fold from the opposite side.

Turn in the triangle in the corner and press the folds down to 90 degrees.

Turn the paper 180 degrees. Fold the bottom right corner up so that it is flush with the top edge of the folded paper. Press the fold until it meets the fold from the opposite side.

Turn in the triangle in the corner and press the folds down to 90 degrees.

Open the top fold and put the triangle underneath. Now the fold is the same on both sides.

It should look like this.

Turn the paper with the opposite side up and fold both points in to form a square and unfold again.

Fold all six sheets in the same way.

The photos in steps 12-17 show how the six parts are assembled into a cube. Put the tips down underneath the folded flaps on the other parts.

The six parts must sit opposite each other in pairs in colours on the cube.

Press the folded flaps together on all six sides and the bauble is finished. Attach a thread for hanging and hang the bauble on the Christmas tree or a branch. You can also omit the thread and make the baubles in different sizes to display in a bowl.
