Flessenopener

De hanger aan de flessenopener is gevlochten met katoenkoord. De houten letters worden tijdens het macrameen toegevoegd. Werk af met ronde, houten kralen.

Double over a long and a short piece of cotton twine and tie them onto the hole in the handle of the bottle opener. Arrange the two short pieces in the middle and braid around these with the long pieces of cotton twine. See the technique below.

Thread beads onto the two middle pieces of twine.

When the desired length is reached, finish with beads and knots

Braiding Technique:

A clip board  is used for starting and supporting the braiding. Attach the pieces of cord under  the clip. Thread beads onto the middle piece of cord.

Follow steps B to I. Start again and switch from right to left until the desired length is reached.

Push up the beads when they are needed.

Place the middle cords parallel and braid an extra piece of cord over the two middle cords.

Cut off the ends leaving approx. 1cm.

Melt the ends one by one with a lighter and immediately push them into the braided piece with  a pair of scissors (for example) so they melt together.
